Ben Hibbs papers 1918-1975

Ben Hibbs was born in Fontana, Kansas in 1901. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in journalism in 1923. He then edited several Kansas newspapers before becoming an editor at the Saturday Evening Post and then Reader's Digest. He was a friend of former President Dwight Eisenhower and edited his writings. Hibbs died in 1975 of leukemia. This collection of his papers contains correspondence, manuscripts, periodicals, writing samples, academic documents, and photographs.

Ben Hibbs (1901-1975) was an editor for the Saturday Evening Post from 1942 to 1961, and Senior Editor in 1962. From 1963 to 1972, Hibbs was the Senior Editor of Reader's Digest. He collaborated with Dwight D. Eisenhower on his writings for The Saturday Evening Post and Reader’s Digest.
